Driver Guard is UD Trucks MEENA’s driver safety and wellbeing initiative, designed to enhance on-road safety by focusing on the most important element of transport operations: the driver. The program goes beyond vehicle technology, aiming to build safer driving behaviors, improve awareness, and support drivers’ physical readiness through structured training and health assessments. By combining education, practical experience, and preventative care, Driver Guard reflects UD Trucks’ long-term commitment to creating a safer working environment for drivers, protecting customers’ operations, and contributing to safer roads across the region.

Driver Guard Health Check

UD Trucks MEENA’s Driver Guard initiative recently made its way to Bahrain and Kuwait, bringing together professional drivers, customers, and partners for an intensive, hands-on safety training experience. The program was met with very positive feedback, with both drivers and customers praising the relevance, practicality, and immediate value of the sessions.

Driver Guard Applied Sessions on Truck

Designed to go beyond classroom theory, Driver Guard combines theoretical knowledge with applied, real-world driving exercises, ensuring participants can directly translate what they learn into safer behavior on the road. Before stepping into the training itself, all drivers underwent a comprehensive health check, reinforcing a core belief of Driver Guard: safety starts with the driver’s wellbeing.

The training covered a wide range of critical skills essential for today’s demanding transport environment. Drivers were guided through defensive driving techniques, helping them anticipate risks, manage hazards, and make better decisions under pressure. Close-quarter maneuvering sessions focused on precision, awareness, and control in tight spaces; an everyday challenge in urban operations and loading areas. The program also introduced advanced driving skills, equipping drivers with techniques to handle complex scenarios with greater confidence and composure.
